Plot
In Harry Potter’s sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft, Harry finds a book marked mysteriously, "This book is the property of the Half Blood Prince," which helps him excel at Potions class and teaches him a few dark and dangerous ones along the way. Meanwhile, Harry is taking private lessons with Dumbledore in order to find out about Voldemort’s past so they can find out what might his only weakness, and Harry is determined to find out what that Draco Malfoy is up to.

Returning once again to Hogwarts, we see a whole new side of Draco as a mission is placed upon him by Voldemort. Draco has been assigned the mission to kill the headmaster Dumbledore, a mission Draco sees himself too incompetent to complete. He tries, however, due to the knowledge that if he cannot kill Dumbledore, Voldemort will kill him. We see Draco turn within himself, often in seclusion, as he attempts to mend a broken vanishing cabinet in the Room of Requirement. Often doubting his plan, Draco tries sending Dumbledore a cursed necklace and a poisoned bottle of mede. Both plans fail, however, as other students are injured by these items.

Draco’s rivalry with Harry is at its peak, as Harry is very suspicious of Draco’s activities. In an attempt to find out more information while on the train ride to Hogwarts, Draco finds Harry and breaks his nose. When Harry realises it was Draco who sent Dumbledore the necklace, they start a brawl in the bathroom, where Harry tries an unknown spell which causes Draco to bleed heavily.

We see Draco eventually mending the broken cabinet, letting Death Eaters into the castle. Draco, however, is unable to kill Dumbledore, and Snape carries out the deed. The last we see of Draco is him running to safety with the Death Eaters.
